Investment Strategies

Nemus, in agreement with its clients, identifies the needs and the investment character to create differentiated and custom strategies that establish the best cost-benefit relation to the Project.

Pre-operational planning

Nemus develops financial-economic models based on their technical studies (Site Location, Feasibility - DCF), to define the project business plan (Business Plan).

Observing these studies, prepares the Project General Budget (General Budget), with detailed physical and financial timetables that includes all of the investment phases.

Our technical team carefully inspects each project site to develop its specific budgets (Annual Farm Budget), with physical - financial timetables and histograms of necessary resources (labor, machinery and equipment), defining the execution methodology of each Forest operation (Technical Recommendation).

Suppliers Selection

Through official approval processes and its own bid methodology, Nemus selects the best inputs and services suppliers to the project, attracting partners that work with the best technical, social, labor and environmental practice in its processes.

Forest activities participatory management

Nemus stands out in this scenario, not only by adopting the most modern silvicultural techniques, but also for developing a methodology for Participative Management, faced with strong synergy between all those involved in the project.

• Training

Nemus implements an effective training process for all service providers, with training to establish operational procedures; disciplinary processes; implement management and quality control; set information and production flow, which it is determinant to the success of silvicultural work.

• Monitoring

Its operational monitoring method, in real time, detained in conjunction with the service providers, ensures the optimization of its applied resources, minimizing work and investment risks, enhancing the achievement of expected project results. With the contribute management, the service provider companies work with technique and security, ensure the results and produce forests with high yield and quality, a product that Nemus provides to its clients.

• Monthly meetings are organized with the operational leadership of service providers to:
• Evaluate the compliance of technical and operational Standards proposed;
• Check the planning status of the project;
• Identify the problems and difficulties;
• Analyze suggestions and/or requests;
• Propose solutions;
• Adjust the administrative and operational processes;
• Establish corrective or preventive measures;
• Set or realign the goals and timetables of the next work period.

Quality

Nemus developed a quality and concept evaluation methodology of services provided by the all service providers, by which aspects are evaluated:

• The application of the silvicultural techniques that were oriented;
• The compliance with the standards of Health and Work safety, regulated in the Regulator Norm;
• The good environmental practices, with regard to the handling and disposal of waste generated in the process; damage to remaining native vegetation; impact to the soil and water resources, among others;
• The suitability of machinery, implements and equipments utilized.

This verification process, which aims to monitor, in real time, the performance of services provided by the contracted companies, guarantees the excellence in the plantation final quality to:

• Ensure the compliance of operational, technical and legal procedures in the activities implementation;
• Enabling the corrective actions immediately after the identification of the technical or operational non-compliance.

Environmental management

Nemus has a high-qualified team to ensure that all projects meet the requirements of environmental legislation by performing, if necessary, the regularization of areas, environmental impact studies and environmental license.

Product marketing

Nemus acts in the forestry products marketing of the projects under its management, seeking to add the most value for investment. The company also develops differential exit strategies given the needs and specific interests of its clients or taking advantage of market opportunities.
